Employment at Nanticoke Senior Center

Nanticoke Senior Center is seek an Assistant Director who is a self-starter and who takes initiative with a positive attitude.  The duties include office, administrative, and technical support for the Director of Operations.  In the absence of the Director of Operations, the Assistant Director will be responsible for overseeing the building, staff, and seniors.  The general hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am to 2pm, plus an additional 8 hours per week to be determined based on the needs of Nanticoke Senior Center.


  • Assist the Director of Operations with reconciling daily receipts, cash handling, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and financial reports
  • Monitor Employee time off
  • Attend weekly staff meeting and provide minutes to the Director of Operations
  • Maintain schedules and calendars for events hosted by the center
  • Coordinate conferences and meetings, oversee daily trips and activities
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, reserve and prepare facilities, record and transcribe minutes of such meetings
  • Typing, filing, copying, scanning, preparing documents and reports, maintaining logs, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, e-mail and faxes
  • Tracking and preparing statistical tables and reports
  • Ordering and maintaining of supplies, arrange for equipment maintenance
  • Secure the building at the close of business day


  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Quickbooks
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
